Agencies ‘helping’ people from other countries get CNIC, Us senate Panel told




ISLAMABAD: Since its organization in 2000, the Nationwide Information source and Signing up Power (Nadra) has recognized a large number of situations of people from other countries obtaining Pakistani Computerised Nationwide Identification Cards (CNICs).

The authority prevents such cards, the first thing towards their termination, and delivers their data to the Intellect Institution and Unique Division of cops for confirmation.

Nadra home common Mir Alam Khan informed the conference that the authority had obstructed CNICs of 27,000 people from other countries over the last 12 decades but the organizations eliminated almost 90 % of the situations sent to them for confirmation.

“Since Nadra is not an research organization, we have to rely on the reviews of the organizations,” he included.

Mr Khan said the people from other countries had used made records like delivery or knowledge accreditations to acquire CNICs. Besides, he said, the nation did not have any idea of visa so people from other countries got career here and after some decades they used records with regards to their tasks while implementing for CNICs.

A associate of Unique Division said that since 2011 27,286 situations had been known as the organization of which 22,777 had been confirmed. “The organization has around 600 workers and it is challenging for it to finish the procedure with such a little team,” he said.

Director, Counter-Intelligence, IB, Sher Khan, said from May 2011 to May 2012, the IB had sent 1,093 situations of bogus CNICs to the secretary of state for interior for activity against the owners of them.

Talha Mehmood said that authorities of Unique Division and IB obtained bribes from people from other countries for approval of their situations. Consequently even terrorists and alleged individuals acquired CNICs.

“Afghan excellent can acquire nationality of Pakistan but after following a long procedure which requires one and 50 percent decades to finish. Therefore, they use a quick way,” he said.

“I have a record of 7,000 Afghans who have acquired Pakistani CNICs. There are reviews that the Unique Division announced a individual an Afghan national but the IB refuted the declare or viceversa,” he said.
